Scott Agnew Appointed New Manager of Stranraer FC
- The announcement came two days after Scott helped East Fife — his former club — deliver an 8 - 0 victory over Stranraer in Scotland's League Two
Scott Agnew helped East Fife thump his former club Stranraer 8 – 0. Two days later, he was named the new boss of the Scottish League Two club.
The 35-year-old Football Careers client was no2 to boss Greig MacDonald with the Fifers but is a huge favourite at the Blues after sparkling as a midfielder there in his playing days.
Now with just two games remaining in this campaign, Agnew is in charge at Stair Park. The club is seventh in the league, five points clear of Albion Rovers who currently sit at the bottom of the table.
Scott took charge of Stranraer at home to Elgin City on Saturday 22nd April, guiding his side to a 3 – 1 victory.
Stranraer is delighted to welcome back their former captain and one of their favourite sons. A club statement said:
“Scott has a wealth of experience as an assistant at Airdrieonians, Raith Rovers and most recently East Fife.
“He has been highly sought after by a number of clubs who have been on the search for a new manager.”
Agnew takes over after the exit of ex-boss Jamie Hamill and assistant Darryl Duffy.
