Ross Gibson Appointed Head of Player Education and Academy Coach at Columbus Crew
- Ross brings the experience of working in American soccer since 2014
- This move sees him join one of MLS's most famous and decorated clubs
Football Careers is pleased to announce that client Ross Gibson has been appointed Head of Player Education and Academy Coach at MLS side Columbus Crew. Ross had previously been both a Head Coach and Technical Director at Detroit City FC’s youth sides at different levels.
This is an exciting development for Ross, who has worked at various levels in American soccer since 2014. Before then, he had worked in England as an Academy Head Coach for both Hull City (from 2009 to 2012) and Scunthorpe United (2012 to 2013).
He has received glowing feedback throughout his career, including at Michigan Wolves (where Ross spent four years). Club President Matt Solek stated:
“Our club is one of the largest in the state of Michigan and has produced an array of highly skilled and elite soccer players. As our Technical Director, Ross has not only coached our U18/U19s at both young men’s and women’s levels but has also helped to develop and facilitate a full Academy curriculum for all of our teams, from U10 right through to U19s.”
Here at Football Careers, we’re thoroughly delighted to see Ross appointed to a position at one of America’s most historic and decorated clubs in Columbus Crew. We wish him and the organisation all the success in the future.
