Liam Fox Settles into His New Role as First Team Coach at Aberdeen FC

Liam Fox has gone from the hurt of Dundee United’s fight against the drop to Aberdeen’s comeback chase in the Scottish Premiership.

From fearing relegation to gunning for a place in European football, it’s a remarkable turnaround in fortunes since the 39-year-old Football Careers client was dismissed as Head Coach at Tannadice last month.

Liam’s exit after a 4-0 loss at fellow strugglers Ross County was a low ebb in his coaching career but it is a testament to how he is regarded inside the game in Scotland that new Aberdeen boss Barry Robson quickly snapped him up. Robson has the reins now at Dons until at least the end of the season after a superb haul of 15 points from a possible 21 since he took over from the axed Jim Goodwin.

Former Celtic and Middlesbrough midfielder Barry is making a compelling case to win the job for keeps.

His resurgent Dons team has gradually reeled in Hearts and now sits third in the Scottish Premiership. Robson is delighted he has Fox with him after he made his dugout debut in a 0-1 win on the road at St Johnstone on 1st April. Barry said:

“Liam has worked at U18s and development level, as well as being a first team manager, so his wide-ranging experience fits the profile for this important role at senior level while also supporting the pathway for young players to the first team.
