Jordan Tait settles into a new role with Coventry City
- The UEFA A Licence holder brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having coached at a variety of clubs across Scotland, England, and Canada
Jordan Tait is settling into a new role as Youth Development Phase Lead at EFL Championship club Coventry City.
The Football Careers client played for the likes of Ayr United, Oldham Athletic, and Newcastle United before an injury forced him to hang up his boots at 26 years old in 2005. By that point, Tait had already begun making inroads into coaching with Scottish side St Johnstone, where he worked with aspiring footballers in the U16 and U18 age groups.
Since then, the UEFA A Licence holder has garnered coaching experience with a number of clubs across Scotland, England, and Canada, including Berwick Rangers, Hamilton Academical, St Mirren, Middlesbrough, and Ottawa South United.
Tait is also an astute and analytical scout who has lent his expertise to Scottish League One’s Queen of the South, as well as the Scottish Football Association and the Irish Football Association.
The 43-year-old has recently graduated from The Manchester Metropolitan University with a Master’s degree in Sporting Directorship and in early 2023, he attained his UEFA Elite Youth A Licence.
Tait’s long-standing passion for identifying and mentoring talented youth players — along with his commitment to continued education and professional development — has earned him a stellar reputation in the world of coaching.
Prior to his new appointment, the former defender held the position of Youth Development Phase Lead Coach at fellow EFL Championship side Middlesbrough. Tait is now bringing his extensive experience and expansive skill set to Coventry City’s Academy as he works within the Youth Development Phase group to maximise the potential of the club’s young footballers.
Jordan Tait on the service he received from Football Careers:
“I’ve been with Football Careers since 2015 and I’d never look anywhere else for what they provide and produce. The guidance, care, and attention they have given and continue to give me is very supportive and reassuring. I have recommended Football Careers to colleagues and friends in sport and I will continue to do so. They’re professional, reliable, authentic, and experts in what they do.”
