Jonny Hayes and Adam Asghar Join Celtic Academy
- Former Celtic player Jonny Hayes coming in as B Team Coach
- Adam Asghar will be the new Head Coach of Celtic's under-18's
Football Careers are thrilled to announce two of our clients – Jonny Hayes and Adam Asghar – have joined Scottish giants Celtic as part of their esteemed academy.
Hayes, who spent three years at Celtic Park, has joined as a coach with the club’s B team, who currently play in Scotland’s Lowland League. After a playing career that lasted eighteen years, most notably at Celtic and Aberdeen (as well as featuring four times for the Republic of Ireland), he began coaching. His experience in coaching includes spells as both Assistant and Lead Coach of Aberdeen’s under-16’s side. With glowing reviews as a professional and person from the likes of Brendan Rodgers and Derek McInnes, Hayes is well shaped for a long and illustrious career in coaching.
Asghar has joined the club as under-18’s Head Coach. He has been in coaching since 2017, starting out as Lead Youth Phase Coach at Motherwell. Asghar has held numerous roles in the game, both with senior and youth sides. He was First Team Coach and Head of Professional Development Phase at Dundee United, Under 18 Lead Coach at Sunderland and most recently the Head Coach of Southampton’s Under 21s side. He also holds both the UEFA A Licence and UEFA Elite Youth A Licence.
We are extremely excited about both of these appointments and wish Jonny, Adam and Celtic Football Club all the best for the upcoming season.
