Falkirk Boss John McGlynn Named PFA Scotland Manager of the Year
- Falkirk have won 27 and drawn 9 of their 36 league games
- McGlynn beat out Kilmarnock's Derek McInnes and Dundee's Tony Docherty for the award
Football Careers client John McGlynn has been named as the PFA Scotland Manager of the Year after achieving an unbeaten season in League One with Falkirk. McGlynn beat out Kilmarnock’s Derek McInnes and Dundee’s Tony Docherty to win the prestigious award.
McGlynn – alongside fellow Football Careers clients Graeme Henderson and Tony Begg, who are on his backroom staff – has led Falkirk to 27 wins and 9 draws in 36 games this season, becoming just the seventh team in Scottish football history to go through a league season unbeaten.
Falkirk went unbeaten in part thanks to their incredible attacking unit. The Bairns scored 96 goals, averaging over 2.5 goals a game as they sealed promotion back to the Scottish Championship. Winger Callum Morrison was their star man in attack, with 23 goals in 32 appearances.
McGlynn, who had previously been manager at Raith Rovers, has overseen the club since the 2022-23 season, where he led Falkirk to a second-place finish. It wasn’t to be in terms of promotion, after defeat to Airdrieonians in the semi-finals of the play-offs.
This time though, they left nothing to chance, finishing 16 points ahead of second-placed Hamilton. Here at Football Careers we’re delighted to see the success of John McGlynn, Graeme Henderson and Tony Begg and wish them and everyone at Falkirk all the success for next season in the Championship.
