Jamie Hoyland begins new role as Chief Scout at Sheffield United
- Hoyland is a former Sheffield United player and youth team coach
- He has had an illustrious career and joins the Blades after six years as a Lead Scout at Everton
Football Careers is delighted to say that Jamie Hoyland has started a new role as Chief Scout at Premier League side Sheffield United.
Jamie has been working in football for over thirty years and has a wealth of experience to bring to the role. He was most recently the Lead Scout at Everton for six years, where he was trusted with a senior role in first-team recruitment, leading extensive experience of in-person scouting across Europe and South America. He received glowing feedback at his time at the club, with former U23 manager David Unsworth saying “He (Jamie) impressed me immensely in his abilities as a top coach, talent recruiter and loyal colleague”.
He has also held roles as a Technical Match Observer for the Premier League, a Senior Talent Reporter for The Football Association and as a coach for numerous clubs in England since 1999. This came after a playing career that lasted sixteen years, including spells at Manchester City and Burnley.
Jamie’s new role at Sheffield Untied is special as it sees him return to his hometown club, where he made 90 appearances over 4 years from 1990 to 1994, and served as Youth Team Coach in 2012-13 where he gave a youth team debut to then schoolboy Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
We wish Jamie all the success in his return to the Blades.
