Gary Miller Appointed New Head of Youth at Alloa Athletic
- He was most recently Academy Coach at Partick Thistle's under-18's
- Miller had a playing career that included spells at Livingston, Ross County, St Johnstone and Plymouth Argyle
We are delighted to announce that Football Careers’ client Gary Miller has been appointed as Head of Youth at Scottish League One side Alloa Athletic. Miller was most recently Academy Coach for Partick Thistle’s under-18’s side. Prior to his role at Partick he was Development Squad Coach at Falkirk.
Miller has held a range of different roles in football – from a playing career that included spells at Livingston, Ross County, St Johnstone and Plymouth Argyle – to coaching roles at Falkirk and Partick Thistle.
His range of different skills combined with his qualifications, which include the UEFA A Licence make him the perfect appointment to lead Alloa Athletic’s youth programmes. The Clackmannanshire based outfit narrowly missed out on promotion to the Championship last season after defeat to Hamilton, and will be looking for their youth sides to add an injection of quality into the team in the upcoming seasons.
Alloa’s most famous academy graduate is probably James McFadden, who went on to appear in the Premier League and star for Scotland, and it will be up to Gary to shape the next generation of stars at the club. We wish him all the success in doing so and for the coming seasons at Alloa.
