Football Careers is pleased to announce that Dave Rogers has been appointed the new Head Coach of Maltese Premier League side Balzan FC.
Born in Liverpool, Rogers spent his youth career at Everton before playing in four different countries including England, Scotland, the Netherlands and Ireland.
Throughout his twenty-year playing career, Rogers won four championship medals, including at Dundee FC where he won the Scottish First Division title. At Shelbourne FC, he won the League of Ireland Premier Division three times before hanging up his boots in 2012 to begin his transition from playing to coaching.
After retiring from playing, Rogers moved into coaching, where he held impressive roles as Liverpool FC International Academy Manager and more recently, Nottingham Forest FC U21 Head Coach. He also took the reigns at US-based side FC Arizona and Indian I League club DSK Shivajians FC.
After taking some time away from football to focus on his family, Rogers has been appointed Head Coach of Balzan FC, signing a two-year contract.
On his appointment, Rogers said:
“Our vision and principles are aligned with each other and the club’s desire and ambition to lift the standards of both the first team and the Academy is a challenge we aim to embrace and enjoy.
“My objective is to apply and implement a style of play and identity throughout the club… I have been immensely impressed by the club’s facilities and infrastructure and I can’t wait to get started.”
Everyone at Football Careers wishes you the best of luck in Malta, Dave!
