James Craigen Brings His Sporting Expertise and Knowledge to Football Careers

Football Careers is delighted to announce the signing of James Craigen as our new Senior Football Consultant.

James began his playing career in Preston North End’s Academy before taking time out of the professional game to complete an honours degree in Sport and Recreation Management at the University of Edinburgh, which he graduated from in 2014.

During his time as a student, James represented the University of Edinburgh’s football team, as well as the Scottish Universities football team and the Great Britain Universities football team. He also moved back into the professional ranks with Partick Thistle, where he was part of the 2012/13 Scottish Football League First Division championship-winning side and a popular player among the Firhill faithful.

James went on to have spells with Raith Rovers, Falkirk, Dunfermline Athletic, AFC Fylde, Arbroath, and FC Edinburgh before joining his current club, SPFL League Two new boys Spartans.

James’ football career has run parallel to his career in business. He was previously Partnership Manager then Head of Talent with LAPS: Life After Professional Sport and is the co-founder and director of Altro Property.

He will now bring his professional experience on and off the football pitch to Football Careers and will work tirelessly for our clients to ensure they receive the best service and advice to help them advance their careers. James said:
